BiographyFrank A. Fischer, 84, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010 at Easton Hospital. Born: November 2, 1925 in New York City, he was a son of the late Adam Fischer and Christine Troyer Fischer. Personal: His wife of 44 years, Marjorie T. Fischer passed away in 1996. He was an Army Veteran of World War II serving in the European Theatre. He has lived in Phillipsburg for 10 years, before that he lived in Bayonne, NJ. Frank was a Typewriter Mechanic. He worked at the Midtown Typewriter Co. in New York City, retiring in 1988. Memberships: He was a member of the V.F.W. Post and American Legion Post in Bayonne, NJ. He had belonged to several gun clubs in the North Bergen area. Survivors: sons, John M. Fischer of Phillipsburg, NJ, Thomas A. Fischer and his wife Cathleen of Lopatcong Township; daughter, Barbara H. Fischer of Bayonne, NJ; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson. A daughter Christine Barra passed away in 2007. Services: Funeral services will be private. Interment of his cremains will be in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
