Nicholas L. Fucci, Sr., 78, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Easton Hospital. Born: September 17, 1931 in New Village, NJ he was a son of the late Michael Fucci and the late Stephanina Colucci Fucci. Personal: His wife, the former Jane Cressman passed away May 24, 1987. He has lived in the Phillipsburg area nearly all his life. At one time Nicholas was a machine operator at the Sunoco Co. in Phillipsburg. He last worked at Baer Aggregates in Carpentersville, NJ. He loved country music. He was a accomplished guitar player. He played the guitar in the Country Drifters Band in several area clubs. He was a Army Veteran. He served during the Korean Conflict. He also served with the National Guard in Phillipsburg. He was of the Catholic faith. Survivors: sons, Nicholas L. Fucci, Jr. of Palmer Township, PA, John A. Fucci of Phillipsburg, NJ; step-daughter, Annette M. Laughlin of Freemansburg, PA; Brothers, Ontonio Fucci of Phillipsburg, NJ,and Col. Ret. Michael Fucci and his wife Vivian of Germantown, TN; sisters, Mabel Vazquez of Beattystown, NJ, Lena Stauffer of Washington, NJ; two granddaughters, Britteny Fucci and Taylor Fucci; many nieces and nephews. A son Edward J. Fucci passed away in 1999, also three brothers, August Fucci, Lundy Fucci and George Fucci, and three sisters, Lucy Beradesca, Vincenza Tolotta and infant sister Stephanie all died earlier. Services: Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Rupell Funeral Home LLC, 465 Memorial Parkway, Phillipsburg, NJ. A calling hour will be held on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial in the St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ.
