Biography

Carole B. Vandever, 64, of Easton, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's in Bethlehem, PA. Born: on January 29, 1946 in Easton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Orres E. Gibbs and the late Berneta Turner Gibbs. Personal: Carole has lived in Easton all her life. Carole had been a case worker for the Pennsylvania Public Assistance Office. She graduated from Wilson High School, class of 1963. Throughout her life she enjoyed dancing and gardening, crossword puzzles and Doowop music. She was loving and very fond of her five grandchildren and a wonderful companion, sister, mother and nanny. Survivors: J. Robin Myers III, her life long companion of 38 years, with whom she resided; son, Jeff Vandever and his wife Rebecca of Bethlehem, PA; daughters, Christine Petchonka of Bath, PA, Jamie Rose of Easton, PA; brother, Fred Gibbs and his wife Kelly of Flagstaff, AZ; sisters, Ruth Ann Gibbs of Clinton, NJ, Posie Gibbs and her companion David Petrilla of Fountain Hill, PA; five grandchildren, Jared, Corey, Ryan, Ethan and Brady; and her beloved cat, "Stache". Services: A celebration of her life will be held for her family and friends on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Valenca on the Square, 64-66 Centre Square, Easton, PA.
