Biography
Helen S. James, 96, of Lopatcong Township, formerly of Alpha, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Brakeley Park Center. Born: August 10, 1913 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Merwarth Sloan. Personal: She was the wife of the late Harry E. James. She was a teacher in the Phillipsburg School District, teaching at the John Firth Building; and a graduate of Moravian College. Memberships: She was a member of the Warren County Retired Teachers, National Education Association, New Jersey Education Association, Order of the Eastern Star #50, and St. Mary's Golden Age Club of Alpha, NJ. Survivors: Nieces and nephews. Services: Will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Rupell Funeral Home, 465 Memorial Pkwy, Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Pohatcong Township, NJ.
